Obstetric High-Risk Delivery Scenarios: Benefits of Simulation Training of Rare but Critical Procedures

      The delivery of a fetus, including complicated deliveries, is required training in emergency medicine (EM) residency. No specific data exist regarding the number of “high-risk” deliveries required to achieve procedural competency. This study sought to identify the incidence of high-risk deliveries during EM residency training, and assess residency knowledge and confidence in performing deliveries through simulation.
