Bedside Urinary Bladder Duplex Ultrasonography for the Detection of Obstructing Ureteral Calculi in the Emergency Department

      On multiple occasions, patients with a known history of nephrolithiasis present to the emergency department (ED) with a history consistent with renal colic, resulting in repeated exposure to ionizing radiation. The objective of this study is to determine the test characteristics of ED bedside urinary bladder ultrasonography for the diagnosis of obstructing ureteral calculi.
