Unintentional injury is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality for adolescents
in the United States. The optimal treatment facility for adolescent trauma patients
is unknown. This study investigated risk-adjusted outcomes of adolescents treated
at adult-only trauma centers vs. pediatric-only trauma centers in Ohio state American
College of Surgeons–verified institutions.
