Clinical data is imperative to the interpretation of radiologic studies. Previous literature has underscored this point, describing fewer missed diagnoses and improved rate of reimbursement. Relaying clinical information from emergency physician to radiologist has been targeted in several ways, including required history text boxes on radiologic orders, but with little improvement in transfer of information. The authors of this study took a novel education-based approach to attempt to improve this clinical information transfer and measure its effect on reimbursements.
