Background: Oman, which is a country that has wide geographic distribution, is home to more than
22 different species of snakes with vipers being the most common venomous snakes.
Snakebites are common encounters in the emergency department, with the clinical presentation
ranging from mild to severe envenomation. Patients demonstrating severe signs of envenomation
are treated with polyvalent horse serum antivenom from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (AntiSnakeVenom).
