Background: Naloxone is an opioid receptor antagonist that is commonly used to reverse opioid
overdose. It is recommended as low dose initially and repeated if needed as either
bolus or as an infusion. Naloxone can result in adverse events ranging from withdrawal
symptoms to adult respiratory distress syndrome especially with higher doses.
