Emergency Medicine Physicians are often the first to evaluate and treat patients with
acute ischemic strokes. Clinical outcomes decline when there is associated hyperglycemia
and thus hyperglycemic control is crucial. There are few studies however, that demonstrate
a favorable association between aggressive blood glucose control and clinical outcome
compared to standard glucose control.
