        Drowning is one of the leading causes of unintentional injury death throughout the world. As hypoxemia is frequently the cause of cardiac arrest in drowning patients, airway intervention is a crucial part of their management. This is especially true in the prehospital setting where early and effective interventions can significantly improve outcomes. The goal of this study was to determine if different advanced airway maneuvers would improve survival to hospital admission, survival to hospital discharge, and favorable neurologic outcomes at discharge for drowning patients with cardiac arrest.
